West Windows of the Church
The First Window on the west side, The Annunciation, recalls that the Angel Gabriel was sent by God to Nazareth where he told Mary that she would give birth to God's Son, Jesus. Donated by the J. J. Demuth family. |
The Second Window on the west side shows the baptism of Jesus by John the Baptist. Jesus came to John to be Baptized. After Jesus was baptized, a voice came down from heaven, "This is my own Son and I am pleased with Him", and the Spirit, symbolized by a dove came down upon Jesus. Donated by the John Thome family. |
The Third Window on the west side depicts Jesus blessing the little children. Donated by the children of the church. |
The Fourth Window on the west side pictures St. Anges. St. Agnes is one of the early martyrs. She was only thirteen years old when she was martyred. She had consecrated her virginity to Christ. For this she was accused and condemned to death. Fittingly donated by the young ladies of the church. |
The Fifth Window on the west side shows St. Ann, the mother of Mary, teaching her little daughter Mary to read the Scriptures. Donated by the Christian Mothers Society. |
The Sixth Window on the west side depicts Paul. St. Paul was one of the main persecutors of the early church. One day the Lord called Paul, "Paul why do you persecute me." From then on Paul was a disciple of Christ. Donated by the John Blake family. |
